A fjord in the Arctic Circle during the midnight sun
Back in May, Young and I took our honeymoon trip to Norway. We wanted to hit several locations and also make planning a little easier, so we decided on a cruise for the first week. We flew into Oslo and took the train out to Bergen, where we embarked on our journey up to Kirkenes. I wish we could have explored more in each location, but it was nice to get a sense of how unique each place was. Up next will be our final days in Norway, which we spent in Oslo and our road trip to Pulpit Rock.
This past weekend I went with my friend, Steph, to Phoenixville, PA to take a jewelry making workshop with Ria Smith. We had so much fun learning the process of creating rings that the time flew by quickly. Ria was also a wonderful instructor. She was very thorough with her demonstrations and gave us a lot of time and freedom to create at our own pace. She was so nice and patient with us as well. I hope I'll be able to go back to attend another workshop soon!
If you are interested in taking one of Ria's workshops, you can check out her upcoming schedule here.
Last weekend, the forecast didn't look too good, so we planned to stay indoors and cook! Our friend Steph came over and we prepped and cooked shrimp and grits. Well, she cooked. I ran around rearranging the furniture to try to get the best lighting for our little delectable shrimp. I have to say, shrimp and grits were so perfect for such a cold and gloomy day. Here is the Lemon-Garlic Shrimp and Grits recipe we used from the Food Network. So yummy!
